Ray Feliciano, Chief Instructor of Pasadena Aikikai began the Friendship Practice in 2005 with the vision that such practice would serve as a tool to help bridge the gap in the aikido community and/or bring various aikido groups closer. In addition, the Friendship Practice also serves as an opportunity to experience various styles of aikido. Some of the notable visitors in 2007 were Shihan Francis Takahashi and Howard Scott of Whittier Aikikai.
